Purpose/Usage
Blackmores Betacarotene contains naturally sourced betacarotene from the alga Dunaliella salina. Betacarotene is converted into vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A is necessary for the healthy function of the skin, mucous membranes, stomach and lung linings. Betacarotene is also a potent antioxidant/free radical scavenger.
How it works
Betacarotene is either absorbed directly into the blood stream or converted into vitamin A, depending on the body's current vitamin A stores. It has antioxidant activity helping to neutralise free radicals, and may be deficient in those with a diet lacking in fruit and vegetables and in heavy drinkers. Supplementation may also be of benefit in those who have an inadequate dietary intake of vitamin A.
