Purpose/Usage

Traditionally, Garlic has been used successfully in the treatment of respiratory conditions such as Sinus, Hayfever and Bronchitis. Garlic supports and protects the respiratory tract aiding immune resistance via its antimicrobial action. Fenugreek, traditionally used to �cleanse breast, chest and lungs� works as a soothing expectorant, clearing catarrh and encouraging the healing process.
Active Botanicals Sinus and Hayfever also includes Marshmallow and the highly effective Golden Seal. Like Fenugreek, Marshmallow is high in mucilage and has been found to stimulate immune system phagocytosis in vitro. As mucilage is not absorbed intact from the gut, it soothes an irritated respiratory tract via a reflex effect on the vagus nerve. Marshmellow is therefore useful in treating coughs, bronchitis and respiratory catarrh.
Hydrastis canadensis, or Golden Seal has the ability to expectorate respiratory catarrh, astringe, soothe and repair inflamed mucous membranes. Golden Seal contains hydrastine, which is a powerful antibacterial agent for organisms such as staphylococci, streptococci, E. coli, and others.
This formula should ideally be taken as a preventative, helping to reduce the frequency and severity of Sinus and Hayfever.
