Purpose/Usage
PROBLEMS:
Metatarsalgia, a pain in the area behind the toes called the metatarsal region.
• This is usually caused by inflammation of the joints and ligaments in this area from various conditions or pressure stress.
• Or shoes that are too narrow and high heel shoes.
• High impact activities without wearing proper cushioning footwear or orthotics if one normally wears them.
• Age deterioration of the fatty pad on the bottom of the foot.
SOLUTIONS:
Metatarsal pad to offload pressure and provide cushioning.
There are examples of other pads around that can be worn at the front of the shoe. The problem is that many of these slop around in the shoe and do not stay in place; the pad is often quite thin.
