Dosage
1. Sew, stick or safety pin the '"Velcro" on to the shoulder and place the Dri Sleeper on the "Velcro" patch. The wire from the Dri Sleeper which is connected down to the detector, goes inside the pyjamas.

2. The detector clips into a thin-type panty liner which is stuck inside the crutch of underpants. A wider-style panty liner may be more suitable for boys to provide a wider collecting area for urine.

3. Cut a small slit in the panty liner, insert half of the detector inside the slit through 2 layers and then clip the detector together.

4. The detector needs to be below the vagina or penis so that the detector catches the urine easily. Firm underwear can help to keep the panty liner in place.

5. Practice this routine before setting : attach Dri Sleeper - imagine that it sounds, unplug and pretend to go to the bathroom, return, reattach Dri Sleeper and practise again 10 times.

6. In the early part of treatment a very heavy sleeper may not wake. In time, this child will "tune in". Until then, you wake the child but have the child unplug the alarm and go into the bathroom.

7. Usually when the alarm sounds, the child wakes, unplugs the alarm, and goes to the bathroom. Urine is corrosive so the detector will need to be washed and shaken dry. It is then attached to a new panty liner and underpants. It is recommended to have a spare detector and have it already clipped to a new panty liner and underpants.

8. Keep using Dri Sleeper every night until there have been no wet beds for 14 nights

Purpose/Usage
Dri Sleeper is effective in successfully treating bed-wetting in up to 90% of children over the age of 5 years.

When using Dri Sleeper as urination begins, the alarm sounds, waking the child before the bed or pyjamas are wet. This teaches the child's unconscious mind to waken to the need to urinate and later learn the mature pattern of suppressing the need to urinate during the night. Successful treatment to consistent night dryness is achieved in most children in a few weeks.

Dri Sleeper is suitable for children over the age of 5 years. Most children stop bed-wetting by 5 years. Beyond this age, help to become dry may be needed. Occasionally a medical disorder may be present, but mostly it is due to the involuntary failure of learning ; the child is not to blame.

Successful treatment with Dri Sleeper take from a few weeks to a few months. Persistence is the key to success. If relapse occurs, another short course will usually succeed. Always encourage.
